Happy Monday!
I’m never actually happy on Monday’s. It’s the start of the work week and it’s way to many days until its Friday again. But I try to keep positive and look what the week has in store for me. This week I really want to develop a concrete weekly posting plan. I’m planning on having that all together by Friday’s post. It’s going to be really great!!! I know for sure that I want to post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The weekends I am going to leave open. I might post extra stuff or just things I love or inspirational Twitter pages, blogs, websites, and things like that. But I also want to have enough time to create content that’s meaningful and if I’m always in front of the computer I won’t be able to.
While going through some of my Twitter feed (@sharonjeannette) I saw some vegan pages post about upcoming vegetarian/vegan food festivals. I instantly smiled and realized, it was a happy Monday. I hadn’t even put that much thought in planning my spring/summer activities and this gave me a great head start. I really want impact my summer with meaningful experiences and help me grow into my new life. I went on to Vegan.com and saw they had a list of festivals: (click here for the full list)
- Western New York VegFest (Buffalo)
- Farm Sanctuary Celebration for the Turkeys
- Farm Sanctuary Hoe Down
- NYC Vegetarian Food Festival
- NYC Veggie Pride Parade
- Vegan Street Fair (Manhattan)
- Woodstock Fruit Festival
The one I’m looking forward to the most is the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival. I’ve been creeping on their website pretty hard and it looks like such an amazing event. I love the fact that they are helping an organization called Mercy For Animals. Please check out their website and see the powerful work they are doing to help animals. I think that’s the reason why I am so excited to go. The fact that it’s linked to a great organization and at the same time an informative environment that fun is a big pull for me. I’ve always been an animal lover. But ever since I’ve started this journey the love of animal I’ve always had has grown bigger and deeper. And I want to make sure that I have all the information I need to maintain a healthy life while I continue to improve myself through this vegan journey.
Watch a great video about the festival >here<
I think that by going to these festivals I’ll be able to meet new people and pick their minds on their food experience. I am the only vegan in my family and currently its not an issue. But I am concerned when I go to larger family functions. And by surrounding myself with people who are doing this for years it will give me the support I need to continue.
When you check out vegan.com page you’ll see a lot of helpful information. You’ll catch reviews, recipes, and tips. It’s really been a great source for me right now.
