My close friends will tell you that I love France. I love it’s culture, food, and beautiful cities. This is the first book I bought when I turned to vegetarianism (first step I made before becoming vegan). I’ve yet to try any of the recipes because there are a lot of items that I don’t have direct access to. I want to make it my summer goal to get through the whole book. I’ll keep positive about it. But going through the book the pictures are beautiful and the foods sound fantastic. It’s it funny that words can make you have a strong reaction to food. When I decided to become vegan I knew that i needed to be smart about it. I didn’t want to jump in without knowing all the information I can get my hands out. What I didn’t realize was that there’s a lot of information. I researched so much and came across this book. The amount of information is astounding. I really didn’t realize how thoughtful you need to be when making the jump into Veganism. I knew that it was going to be a long road ahead of me and I wanted a little helping hand.
I never gave much thought to my protein intake, vitamins, minerals, even sodium intake. I thought that jumping in an making sure my food didn’t have animal products would be enough. From what I gathered you need to be studious about Veganism. I’ve researched so much and read so many articles that sometimes my head is spinning. Becoming Vegan has been such a VITAL tool for me. I’ve dove into it with an open mind and absorbed 2% of its knowledge. Hahaha! I’m still reading it piece once over and researching parts that are still not clear. I also want to make sure to give people well informed answers when they ask me questions. I don’t want to come across as a fanatic. I’m not where I want to be yet but one day I know I will be. I can’t wait to continue this journey.
